Reach Out

(Sam Hensley)
Sam Hensley
There is a greeting song that is entitled, "Shake a Hand, Alleluia," that is commonly played at retreats to get people moving around and greeting people in the room. After a number of years, that song begins to grate on you, so I worked up another take on the greeting song, in the bluegrass style which I absolutely love, and wish I could play better.
I reach out my hand to you
I reach out my hand to you
I reach out my hand, stretch it far across the land
I reach out my hand to you

I reach out my smile to you
I reach out my smile to you
I reach out my smile, won’t you stay for a while
I reach out my smile to you

I reach out my five to you
I reach out my five to you
I reach out my five, it’s so great to be alive
I reach out my five to you

La, La, La La La, La, La, La La La, La, La, La La La, La, La, La

I reach out my side to you
I reach out my side to you
I reach out my side, not with envy or pride
I reach out my side to you

I reach out my arms to you
I reach out my arms to you
I reach out my arms, all my wit and all my charm
I reach out my arms to you

I reach out my Christ to you
I reach out my Christ to you
I reach out my Christ, God of wonder and life
I reach out my Christ to you

La, La, La La La, La, La, La La La, La, La, La La La, La, La, La
