Another song written for Winterlight 28, going back to the bluegrass well for some more. Jesus loved with an unconditional love which is what we, as Christians, strive for, and always fall well short(at least I do.) But God calls us to try, not only with our friends, but to those strangers, and especially those in need. The "Attitude Check" part of the song borrows from a tradition at Brown Summit conference center when, during meals, a table would stand and yell "Attitude Check!" and the other tables would yell back "Praise the Lord!" And then the opposite would be yelled. In the late 80's/early 90's, this ritual would stretch for about 3 minutes, as many other checks were then shouted out, although NC has seemed to have lost most of them, except for the "Gravity Check." Let's develop some more, NC!
