Sam Hensley: Guestbook

I just got back from pre-camp at Camp Gailor-Maxon at DuBose Conference Center in Monteagle, TN. Your song "Amazed, Astonished, Astounded" is still ringing in my head (in a very good way!). I loved, loved, loved seeing young Jackson Seltzer up on stage with the music team leading the singing. What an amazing song filled with the Holy Spirit!!!! Thank you!!!!!

Hey Sam. If you are the Sam Hensley that wrote and sang my baby girls song, then thank you so much. It is the most beautiful song out there! You are truly an angel for the things you do! Thank you again.

Sam, The good Lord places on this earth many people for many hands to do much work. But only a few are given the spiritual gift to make the work easier by their presence. Missed you guys at Winterlight but am never far from you by our shared blessings. May God continue to bless you and your family in your new home.

Sam,
Last I logged in the guestbook (10/13/05) was after "Broken". You've done it again with "Let Her Go;" I teared up by the fourth bar. Your music has always been a touchstone for me--since way back in the Brown Summit days of "Sunflower Land."
My best always, and thanks for the heartfelt tunes!
(and congrats on the Car Talk airtime, that's no small deal! :)

Hi Sam,
I listened to your music. I like it. Your mother came by to buy a butter dish and said you're moving back to the area, and are interested in Irish music. Let me know where you end up settling. Wil McCanless and I are still playing in Southern Pines, and ocassional gigs elsewhere.

Hi Sam,
I'm glad you have posted a pic of me and Todd together. Would you mind helping Todd, with getting his passport in order so he can come here? The clemency people told me and us, that Todd doesnt need no clemency in order to get a passport. Would you mind helping him out and I will gladly pay you what ever you need - as long as you help me getting him here?
Got a ticket back to Dulles on jan 10th. I hope he is still mine as I arrive -- since we are supposed to get married by then. Hugs in bundles, be safe - and remind Todd of how much I love him.

Hi,
I'm going to bring Beg the Sky to a Christian organization here at Johnson & Wales University in Charlotte, NC. A guy in that group that I met last week sang me a song that he wrote and, he also played his guitar. His music reminded me so much of yours! I feel so out of touch with all the Episcopal stuff since I joined first Baptist Church of Charlotte last year, but I will never forget my memories from The Summit. I hope to meet you again sometime. Dear Mr. Hensley
could you would you PLEASE put the farmer song on the internet so my grandfather can hear it. He is a retired doctor, and has farmed his whole life. He lives on a cotton plantation, the land and house was once owned by governer of alabama, Governer Bibs during the Civil War and was built by slaves. It is so cool and he loves every minute of farm life. He is a wonderful, gracious man, and your song reminds me of his life very much. He recently suffered a heart problem but is recovering, howerever, he cant ride his horses for four weeks. That is why, I would be very grateful if you would please put the Farmer song on your website so that he can hear it. Thank you for your time.

We're preparing to do a fundraiser for ZUMC's 6th or 7th Glory Ridge trip and I decided to hunt you up on the Internet. I am glad that you are continuing to pursue your dream. The website helped me catch up with you. You've gotten married and moved to VA. Alexandria is a great city and I have some family that live there. My uncle is a pharmacist at Alexandria Hospital. I hope you won't ever need his services:)
We are going to get one of our youth who is good with a guitar to play "Ten Times Stronger" at our Glory Ridge fundraiser in May. I hope that you continue to be blessed.
On a side note -
Duncan: You there, Scout! We must rest soon, the women are tired.
Magua: No, two leagues, better water. We stop there.
Duncan: No, we'll stop in the glade just ahead. When the ladies are rested, we will proceed. Do you understand?
Magua: [speaking Huron] Magua understands that the white man is a dog to his women. When they are tired, he puts down his tomahawk to feed their laziness.
Duncan: Excuse me, what did you say?
Magua: Magua said... he understands English very well

Sam! You have a website! Awesome!
You won't remember me by name, I'm sure, but I'd bet you'd recognize my face from many a Brown Summit conference back in the day. Last I saw you was Feb. 2001 at a mini-concert at NCSU's ECM.
I recently burned my copy of Beg the Sky (along with my Fran CDs) to iTunes, and I found myself wondering if you were still playing, so I did a web search, and voila! Here you are! It's encouraging for me--my art career has been hit and miss since I graduated school. Maybe someday I'll be a "superstar" too. :)
Congrats on your successes!
I'll send a photo & I'm ordering Run Like Water!!

Hello Mr. Hensley,
My name is Melanie Wilson and I am the office administrator at Christ Lutheran Church in Oakwood, GA. Tammy Dill is our preschool director here at the church and she just shared with me the song that you wrote for her son, Maddux Scott Dill, through the Songs of Love foundation. We are all very touched by the lyrics that you wrote for Maddux and we very much enjoyed your sound. I just wanted to sign your questbook and thank you for what you are doing for these kids. Through your music, you are reaching out and touching these kids in a really awesome way! May God bless you in your ministry and in your career.
